I didn't know that. I'm honored to be sandwiched between "Ika" and "Shibaryotaro."
The new work by Natsuho Ishida, who pioneered the new genre of muscle literature with "My Friend Smith," is very intriguing, with the plot saying, "When you eliminate the waste of human resources in your company, you realize that you can also burn your own wasteful fat." This combination of talks is sure to lead to something interesting... 💪
Already?
The books selected by Matsunaga K. Sanzo seem to include Lucia Berlin.
The day after tomorrow is Saturday. Shibata-san and I are planning to translate and recite other works by the three authors we translated this time. If you have time, please join us!
It was a masterpiece.
And in second place is "Tokyo: Bookstores in towns worth visiting" by Masayuki Waki, a Bookshop Traveller who is always helpful to us at One Box Bookstore! (Heartwarming)
I live in a timeline where OASIS has reformed and acrylic stands are being made.
Lucia Berlin's "Evening in Paradise" came in third overall! Thank you very much 📚️ I also recommend "Behold This Mountain" which came in fourth place because it's very interesting 📚️
Overwhelming sleepiness vs. extreme heat
The 2024 National Book Award longlist has been announced, and Miranda July's latest novel, "All Fours," has been selected. Miranda July's menopausal (which cannot be summed up in one word) odyssey is extremely interesting, so I hope that this will lead to more and more people reading it.
What kind of world line is this? That legendary masterpiece is piled up! Everyone, I'm not saying anything bad, so you should buy it.
I also participated. We all wrote about where we were and what we were doing at the same time on the same day. I'm excited about the lineup of writers. The classic "Fushi Nikki" is also being republished! I highly recommend this one too.
(RT) I looked up the episode about Mikey's Dad's Fundoshi Club and found a video, so I watched it for the first time in a while, and it was amazing.
Shaking, I can't tell if it's me or the ground
The e-book version of our book "I Don't Know" is now available. You can also try reading the first few chapters. If you like, please check it out 📚️
(RT) I think it's a very elegant way to say "horse droppings" instead of "poop". Well, it is poop after all.
There will be a rebroadcast on NHK Educational Television from 2:35 p.m. on Thursday, the 27th. If you missed it, be sure to tune in!
It was just rebroadcast on NHK Educational Television. Now that the country is slowly moving towards war, it introduces three books that are a must-read.
Setup is complete. We look forward to seeing you! (Until 5pm)
→If you come to the event and purchase a book, the book will be handed over to you on the day you applied for it on the 21st, so there will be no 500 yen shipping fee📚️
It's finally Friday night next week. This will be the 20th episode of "Sachiko's Room" and the last of the "Unknown" series of events. There are still some seats available, so if you have time, please come!
As requested, I drew "Bayama" in some of the books.
Here is one of them. Daisy Johnson "Sisters" is a full-length novel by an up-and-coming British author whose title work I translated in the anthology "The Superstition of the Albatross". It has a great jacket! It has been translated by Izumi Ichida in a wonderful translation ("Sisters of September and July"). (I forgot to take a photo, so I found one on the internet.)
[Foreign Books Tsumugi-do] We visited and delivered to Bookshop Traveller @Bst_BSL, the owner of a bookstore in the Ultraman Shopping Street in Soshigaya-Okura. We also made signed copies of new books and other books. The weather is nice, so please come and take a walk.
The event will finally start tomorrow at 6pm @ Aoyama Book Center. If you have time, please come!
Wow!
I sent my opinion.
On Friday, June 28th, from 7pm, I will be holding a talk event called "Sachiko's Room" at TSUTAYA Daikanyama, about my new essay book "I Don't Know." This series has now reached its 20th episode... If you have time, please come along.
I went to the exhibition of Naotake Tsuchitani! The whole wall was covered with Tsuchitani's world, which was super cute and a mix of kindness and a little bit of poison, and it was a blissful space. I also got a catalog of heirlooms and a set of 7 stickers (I love stickers). It's on until 5pm this Sunday, so if you haven't seen it yet, be sure to check it out!
Too angry💢 (getting angry)
I translated three short stories by Lucia Berlin for the May issue of Gunzo. The book is currently in preparation, so please wait a little longer.
(RT) The solo exhibition of Naotake Tsuchitani, who drew the cover illustration for my book "The Parts That Curious Me," entitled "Becoming a Person Who Cannot Trample on Nameless Flowers," will be held from April 16th to 28th at Gallery Le Monde in Harajuku. The girl with the braided hair has been reborn like this to match the worldview of the solo exhibition. I'm definitely going!
(RT) It's so cute I'm kind of pissed
#Where did the 5 billion on the second floor disappear?
I think I'll buy the comic that the Kano sisters often show off on Instagram if it becomes a book.
I contributed a cover story to Takahiro Maeda's ``After I Die'' (Chuokoronsha). It was so good that it was included in the top 3 of this year's ``Book Magazine'', and I also wrote a follow-up story. Additions make it even more interesting. Recommended 📚

International Man Booker Prize longlisted

thank you. It was. It was today. And since it's my birthday, it's also Ken Nishizaki's birthday too. Congratulations to us 🎂

I made it on time
(Important announcement) We are also available at Blue Sky. I tend to swear.
I want to remember Valentine's Day and destroy it.
